Ryanair to Send Free SMS Alerts for Flight Delays of Over 90 mins
August 2012. Ryanair, Europe’s only ultra-low cost airline, today (8 Aug) announced that passengers who experience very rare Ryanair flight delays, of over 90 minutes, will now receive free text message updates to advise them of the likely duration of the delay and their new departure time. The service, developed in partnership with Sentient (www.sentient.ie), is a new addition to Ryanair’s existing email/text and website passenger communications and will be particularly useful during periods of severe disruption such as bad weather, ATC strikes or widespread airspace closures (e.g. volcanic ash).

Automated Card Payment Service for GB Oils
Jan 2010 – Enjoying almost 15% of the UK’s domestic fuel market, GB Oils (a subsidiary of DCC) processes tens of thousands of payments per month. As staff also process orders, an automated solution was required to handle inbound payment calls to reduce live agent involvement, and broaden the customer payment window to 24 x 7 . In tandem with our payment service partner, Realex Payments, Sentient deployed the service, integrating with the internal billing platform and providing account reconciliation in a matter of weeks. The service has since been expanded to cover new brands as GB Oils continues to increase its market presence.

Flightbuddy allows anyone interested in a Ryanair departure or arrival to one of 24 UK or 7 Irish airports to get an instant flight status and receive SMS updates on progress including actual take off time, scheduled landing time, actual landing time and delay alerts.

The service is accessed by dialling a UK/ROI national number from a mobile phone and using speech recognition to identify the Ryanair flight.
